Ingredients

1 whole fresh chicken
salt

Preparation

Rinse chicken in a sink with water. Salt generously inside and out.

Place chicken breast side down in a microwaveable covered casserole dish. Cook on high for 10 minutes. Flip the chicken and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Drain the chicken and place on a plate.

Set chicken in fridge for at least an hour to let it cool and the fat will gel.

Heat BBQ and clean well. Turn heat to low setting. Place chicken breast side down and flip every 10 minutes until the bird has browned all over. Serve!

Notes

Try it with my chicken spice rub!

Rub equal amounts of salt, pepper, garlic powder and  chili or cayenne pepper all over the chicken before BBQ-ing the chicken. Tip: mix the spices in a bowl first 😉
